A circle is a beginning with no end; an infinite loop between the past, the present and the future. Our own family circle began in 1975, when a young Ernst travelled to Germany to learn the tricks of the winemaking trade. Here he forged a lifelong ambition to one day manage his very own family wine business, and in 2004 this dream came to fruition when the family proudly presented the classic oval-shaped Ernst & Co label to the world.
  
Eleven years later, with a younger generation slowly taking over the reins and incorporating their strive for constant innovation, a change was due. The decision to switch from an oval to a round label was inspired by the "circle of life" that is so evident in our family – a circle that speaks of generations of inclusion, timelessness and everlasting unity.
  
The label was given an artisanal luxury tone with the use of matt copper foil on cotton-like paper stock, creating a warm, natural, inviting and strong look, whilst remaining true to the highly recognisable Ernst Gouws & Co brand. Each wine still retains the signature of Ernst Gouws, the soul and creator of every bottle. It is his very own mark of quality and personal seal of approval, as he believes there is no better way of showing an absolute confidence and trust in your product.
