#Spring has sprung and pink wines, tourism, heritage and braai celebrations are on everyone’s lips this time of year...so why not stay on trend by adding a pop of #StellenboschBlush to your fridge, visit a wine farm (or two) and enjoy a chop over the coals. #ThinkPink #DrinkStellenbosch

WINNING STELLENBOSCH
Stellenbosch consistently performs well and September was no different

The South Africa Special Report by respected UK Master of Wine Tim Atkin (www.timatkin.com) was released a few days ago. In his sixth annual guide to South Africa, Atkin argues that the Cape is making the best wines in its 358-year history and that its industry is “dynamic, exciting and still evolving”.

South Africa, he says, is "a match for any other New World country in terms of quality and ahead of the field on value". This year, Atkin singled out Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cinsaut and Méthode Cap Classique wines for special praise.

Congratulations to Mark Le Roux of Waterford Estate, named Young Winemaker of the year; Neil Ellis named Winemaking Legend; Overall Red Wine of the Year: Beeslaar Pinotage 2015; Best Value Red of the Year: Onderkloof Cabernet Franc 2014, and Best Value Sparkling Wine of the Year: Villiera Tradition Brut NV – all flying the flag high for Stellenbosch.

International Wine and Spirit Competition 2017
Congratulations to all the Stellenbosch Wine Routes members winning medals at this year’s contest. Cheers to the Gold Outstanding Medal winners: Kanonkop Estate and Spier Wines; as well as Gold Medal winners: Fleur du Cap, Hartenberg Estate, Bottega Family Wines, Jordan Wines, Kanonkop, Kleine Zalze Wines, Rustenberg Estate, Spier Wines, Stark-Conde, Stellenrust Estate, Tokara, Zevenwacht and Zonnebloem.

WHAT’S NEW
